What makes the All-New Express “All-New and Improved”?

The all-new BulletTrain eXpress Keyboard Platform was completely redesigned from the ground up. We took all the learning and insight we gained from the first two generations of the Aluminum BulletTrain eXpress Keyboard Platform, and incorporated it into the all-new version. The all-new BulletTrain eXpress Keyboard Platform is similar in many ways to the original, and at the same time, quite different.

The all-new BulletTrain eXpress Keyboard Platform is made from glass-reinforced polycarbonate, which makes it almost 50% lighter. Also, the Apple keyboard is now flush with the wrist-wrest and the Apple Magic Trackpad is now countersunk by almost a quarter inch, below the wrist-wrest.

How much will it cost to ship my BulletTrain eXpress, and how long will it take them to get to me?

Shipping rates are provided during checkout, prior to payment. Simply complete Step 1 and Step 2 in the shopping cart, and once you have entered your shipping address, your shipping cost pricing options will automatically be displayed.

My keyboard won't sit flat, so it bangs and bounces when I type. Can I fix this?

Yes!!! If you follow the "Setting Up Your BulletTrain eXpress" instructions in the box, your keyboard will lay completely flat, and actually lock into place. The image below shows the instructions that come in the all-new BulletTrain eXpress Keyboard Platform box.

Essentially, you need to press down firmly with your two thumbs on the Command keys, and at the same time, press on the back edge of the Apple keyboard (above the battery compartment), which will snap it firmly into the C-channel. Doing so will result in making certain the keyboard "locks" firmly in place. We are woking on a video that shows this installation process and will add it soon.

What makes the second generation Aluminum eXpress “New and Improved”?

The new Express no longer uses velcro to attach the Magic TrackPad or Apple Wireless Keyboard. The Keyboard is now held in place using two very light reusable 3M Mounting Squares. We have done extensive testing and found this to be a FAR superior method that leaves the underside of your keyboard free of any marks or adhesive. The Magic TrackPad simply slides into place and is held there by the slight overlap of the keyboard.

Shipping rates are provided during checkout, prior to payment. Orders are processed and shipped in the time frame quoted on our site (usually 2-3 business days.) If you require an extra speedy delivery and are located in the US, we suggest using FedEx 2 day.

How do I install the Apple Wireless Keyboard and Magic Track Pad?

It’s very easy to install the Apple Keyboard and Trackpad. First, place your Magic TrackPad into the Express by sliding the battery compartment in first and letting the Trackpad fall into place. The Keyboard goes in next, and is just as easy to install. The first thing you’ll want to do is remove the protective liner from the 3M squares. Next, just drop the keyboard into place. That’s it! It couldn’t be simpler!

How do I remove the Apple devices?

You may want to remove your Apple devices from the Express periodically to change batteries, etc. It couldn't be easier. Simply remove the keyboard first by sliding your two index fingers to the back of The Express and lifting the keyboard out by its battery compartment. Once the keyboard is removed, the MagicTrackpad can then be removed by simply popping it up from the underside of the Express.

What’s Included?

I’ve had my Express for some time now, and it looks slightly different from the one pictured on the site. Why?

We constantly seek to improve our products. The BulletTrain Express has evolved a bit since its launch. The original Express had a lighter polyethylene bottom that occasionally made adhering the feet a challenge. We upgraded the material of the base to a polished acrylic that not only performs better, but looks super slick. In response to feedback from some customers, the current Express is slightly angled, making its already ergonomic design even more comfortable to type on. We’ve even added a secondary method for attaching the Keyboard (with 3M removable squares) that makes using the Express on your lap even more enjoyable.
