When SAP (the $50 Billion) enterprise software company needed to redesign their user interface and workflow process, they turned to Jake Ehrlich & BulletTrain. BulletTrain completed a detailed design reference that was presented to Hasso Plattner, founder and Chairman of SAP-with great accolades.

Jake also completed a design reference that he presented to Jeff Hawkins, the founder of Palm, a design reference that he presented to Bill Gates at Microsoft, as well as Steve Jobs at Apple. Jake also completed and presented a design reference to Google.

Imagineering Process

Jake Ehrlich takes a unusual approach to imagineering products: He begins by imagining if he had a time machine and he could go twenty years into the future and see the product, what would it look like? How would it function? The great question, of couse when you came back to the present, would be, what percentage of what you saw twenty years in the future, could you incorporate into a product today?

Jake believes that you could probably incorporate most of the innovation into todays product, because approximately 85% of the improvment that takes place on the innovation curve are process based v. the other 15% which is processor or processing based.

After an exhaustive design study with deep research and fact finding, Jake puts together a comprehensive design reference.

Jake believes that in order for a product to be successful, it must be extremely intuitive, and everything about the user interface must be easy to use and self discoverable. Jake's primary objective is to make the product extremely functional while archiving true simplicity. Jake believes that beautiful design that works is engineered and beautiful design that does not work is art.

Jake pursues design that captures the hidden order inherent in everything and at the same time awakens a more meaningful and deeper connection with the end user. When all is said and done, Jake always seeks to deliver a minimalist masterpiece.

Jake strongly adheres to Albert Einstein's notion that "One should always seek to make things simple, not simpler."
